What is a Summit Journey?

According to Webster’s New World Dictionary, the word summit means, “the highest level attainable”.

As Summit Journey partners, we will have only one standard for our success. We will measure our success according to how well you are achieving the goals established in your WDYWFY? (What Do You Want For Yourself?) profile.

WDYWFY? Is the primary “vehicle” that will carry us along the journey to your summit.

What is the Magis mentor role?

As your mentor, we set no limitations on the subjects we discuss. There are no boundary limits on our Summit Journey partnership. We will seek a “whole life” connection with you in the journey toward your personal summit.

We endeavor to establish a working relationship with you, our Summit Journey partner, that is free of obligations – one in which we need not prove our worthiness to each other. We do not seek a role as “judge” in your journey. Instead, we are your “safe harbor”. Any and all information shared one-to-one in our partnership is kept strictly confidential.

What can I expect to learn?

As our Summit Journey partner, you can expect to learn about yourself, about partnering with others, and about making your business and/or personal life more effective. Along the journey you will:

Learn (or rediscover) your:

  • Life purpose
  • Personal values
  • Personal strengths and “flat spots”
  • Accessibility and credibility
  • Unique indispensability
  • Desires for personal change

Learn how to partner with others by:

  • Establishing and maintaining rapport
  • Teaching or communicating the “right” way, the first time
  • Packaging and delivering information to individuals and to groups
  • Building productive and fun partnerships and teams

Learn how to make your business/personal life more effective by:

  • Creating (or up-drafting) and implementing high performance business systems
  • Mastering the 5 Profoundly Simple Steps to Goal Achievement
  • Transforming barriers into positive energy
  • Leveraging your strengths and shoring up your priority “flat spots”

And, in your leadership of others, you will evolve your own skills as a mentor.

What’s involved?

In the first part of your Summit Journey, we get clear about who you are, where you are now, and where you want to go.

Next, we discover what is working in your business – and what is not working. We build on what is working; we eliminate or upgrade what is not working.

Our mutual aim is to enrich your life and to optimize your productivity. Our path will look like this:

How does the process work?

We conduct our partnership primarily one-on-one, and use telephone and email communications. We will have scheduled dialogues as well as other spontaneous dialogues as needed to achieve your true WDYWFY?

Our initial time commitment is for six months. At the three- and six-month intervals, we each complete a Partnership Scorecard. Based on the scorecard, we evaluate our progress. By mutual agreement, we will renew our partnership in six- month intervals until you determine that you have reached a point in your Summit Journey where you no longer require our active participation.

  • Increased clarity of personal and business goals
  • Better balance between personal and business goals
  • Improved alignment between day-to-day behaviors and "life’s purpose"
  • Increased personal accountability

  • Increased productivity while having more fun

How long does a Summit Journey partnership take?

Each Summit Journey is unique. However, Summit Journey partnerships typically transpire over a minimum of two years.

The time required for our active partnership will depend on your ability to acknowledge your strengths and your flat spots, on your willingness to accept feedback and counsel, and on the depth of your desire to lean and to grow.
